Custom Mouse Pad Buying Guide: Sizes, Materials & Prices (India)
Custom printed mouse pads have become a popular way to personalise a desk setup - your own photo, a favourite design, or a gaming/anime print instead of a plain office mouse pad. Here's a straightforward buying guide before you order one in India.
Mouse pad vs desk mat - what's the difference?
A standard mouse pad (usually around 7.5 x 9 inches) covers just the area your mouse moves in. A desk mat (around 12 x 31 inches) is a large-format mat that covers your keyboard and mouse together, and often most of your desk. Desk mats are more popular for gaming and streaming setups since they look cleaner on camera and on desk-setup photos.
Standard sizes explained
- 7.5 x 9 inch mouse pad - fits any desk, good for offices and compact setups
- 12 x 31 inch desk mat - covers keyboard + mouse, best for gaming desks
You can order both sizes of the same design together in one order if you want a matching set.
What makes a good custom mouse pad
- Stitched edges so the fabric doesn't fray over time
- Smooth, consistent surface for accurate mouse tracking
- Non-slip rubber base so it stays in place
- Dye-sublimation printing - the design is printed into the fabric, not just on top, so it doesn't peel or fade quickly
